An online supply chain MBA is a general business degree with a handful of supply chain courses built in. Usually it’s three. Most of these programs are designed for students who already have jobs in logistics, purchasing or operations and want to move into management. That’s why so many run seven- or eight-week courses and start several times a year.

This guide ranks the 28 most affordable MBAs for supply chain professionals, each costing less than $30,000 for the full degree. Decide first whether price or coursework matters more to you. If it’s price, the table below offers a quick view of the cheapest MBAs in SCM. If coursework is the priority, read through our program reviews below the table. Some lean toward procurement, others toward ERP systems, analytics or freight, and the program summaries help you sort through the options.

The cheapest MBA in Supply Chain Management for 2027 is Fitchburg State University’s MBA in Supply Chain Management, at $13,080 for 30 credits. But it only narrowly edged out University of Southern Indiana, so you have plenty of affordable options.

What the 2027 Numbers Show

  • Half the programs cost under $21,000. The top of the list is $28,602.
  • Seventeen of the 28 schools hold AACSB accreditation, including five of the six cheapest.
  • Supply chain coursework runs from 6 credits at UW-Parkside to 15 at Ana G. Méndez.
  • Several concentrations double as a graduate certificate. Western Kentucky’s earns one, and its MBA core earns another. At Lebanon Valley, finishing the certificate first lets you skip the GMAT.
  • If you don’t have an undergraduate business degree, expect extra foundation credits. South Dakota adds six, and Bowling Green can add up to 12.
  • Military students often pay much less. Western Kentucky charges them $250 a credit, and Spring Hill does the same for active duty.

28 Most Affordable Online MBA in Supply Chain Management Programs of 2027

The table below highlights the cheapest online MBA in SCM programs we found. Some schools have multiple programs or tracks, so we list the cheapest online supply chain MBA each school offers. Each price is total tuition, plus any per-credit fees, at the school’s most recent published rate. Click a school’s name to advance to our write-up of that MBA program.

Fitchburg State teaches supply chain partly through maps. A required GIS course in its MBA in Supply Chain Management has students make logistics decisions in ArcGIS, using spatial visualization and thematic mapping. Another required course follows goods from factory to end customer, with a close look at apparel distribution and serving big retail accounts, and the concentration treats public-sector supply chains alongside private ones. All ten courses are seven weeks long and fully asynchronous, so the degree can wrap up in about a year. A strategic management capstone closes it out.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Fitchburg State University

Fitchburg State charges a flat $436 per credit for its online accelerated MBA in 2026-27, with no surcharge for living outside Massachusetts. Everyone takes applied business forecasting and planning in the core. Courses run in eight-week online modules, two per semester, with five entry points a year and no in-person requirement.

  • GMAT/GRE: Not required with US bachelor’s

Program Summary

South Dakota’s operations and supply chain specialization pairs supply chain study with lean management and quality control, aimed at logistics, sourcing, quality and waste-reduction work. The Beacom School of Business reworked its MBA prerequisites so graduates of other majors can get in and finish sooner, and it built an online hub of refresher material for them. Through the Coyote Business Consulting Group, faculty-led student teams take on real problems for businesses, mostly small firms in South Dakota and the surrounding region. USD notes that the Princeton Review has put its online MBA in the top 25 every year for more than a decade. Anyone who wants only the subject can take a separate online graduate certificate in operations and supply chain management.

Estimated Tuition Costs at University of South Dakota

USD’s online tuition page charges graduate students $495.70 per credit whether or not they live in South Dakota, and says online rates come with no additional fees. Students with a business bachelor’s need 36 credits, or $17,845. Without one, 6 credits of foundation courses bring it to 42 credits and $20,819. The university’s general graduate cost page lists a $56.50 per-credit business discipline fee, but the online rate table shows fees of $0.

Online students can also use the business college’s employer-matching network of more than 17,000 companies.

BGSU lists separate online rates by residency, and nonresidents pay $626 per credit, $11 more than Ohio residents. BGSU folds all fees into that figure. Thirty credits at the nonresident rate total $18,780, and the bursar’s 2026-27 table gives the same rate. Program Summary

Enterprise resource planning is the center of Southern Arkansas’s supply chain MBA. A required ERP course sits in the core next to supply chain management and business analytics, and the school presents ERP as what ties a supply chain’s data together. The electives range wider than usual, into Industry 4.0 technology, supply chain security, sustainable practices and sourcing, and an optional field experience course is available. SAU aims the degree at people already in the field, from warehouse floors to corporate offices. Students can move between the general MBA and an emphasis after they enroll.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Southern Arkansas University

SAU has no separate online rate, so out-of-state students pay the $530 per credit graduate rate plus a $90 master’s program fee per credit hour, both for 2026-27. Over 33 credits that’s $20,460, the same figure the business school publishes as its estimate. The university fee sheet also lists a $45 online course fee, which that estimate leaves out, along with graduation and application fees. Arkansas residents pay $338 a credit instead of $530.

Overview | Online MBA in Supply Chain Management and Logistics

  • Estimated Total Cost: $21,420
  • Department: School of Business and Entrepreneurship
  • Institutional Accreditation: MSCHE
  • Credit Hours: 42
  • Delivery: Online

Program Summary

Ana G. Méndez University’s specialization centers on materials management: planning, purchasing, production control and inventory. Its supply chain design and management course is largely about purchasing, from supplier selection and negotiation to contracts and buying freight services, while other required courses take on ERP systems, logistics strategy and international logistics. At 42 credits, it is the longest program in this ranking. It ends in a team simulation where students run a company through rounds of decisions in production, R&D, HR and finance. Classes are offered in English, Spanish or both, depending on availability. Note: AGMU’s business programs are candidates for ACBSP accreditation, which isn’t the same as being accredited.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Ana G. Méndez University

AGMU’s 2026-27 tuition bulletin charges $495 per credit for master’s students living in any U.S. state, and less for Puerto Rico residents. We’ve added the $15 student activities and service fee, which the bulletin lists per credit and per semester, for $510 a credit and $21,420 over 42 credits. Without that fee the total would be $20,790. A $375 technology fee and a $50 electronic resources fee each semester aren’t included, and neither is the $80 resources fee on the simulation course.

Program Summary

Shippensburg’s supply chain concentration works as a menu. Students pick three of six specialist courses, among them procurement, logistics and transportation, warehousing and distribution, supply chain quality and global supply chain management, and all six are taught only online. The rest of the 30-credit MBA can be taken asynchronously, synchronously or in a hybrid format, with the same requirements in each. A Strategic Management capstone opens once at least four core courses are done. The school’s MS in Supply Chain Analytics, priced the same, appears on our master’s ranking.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Shippensburg University

Online nonresidents get their own column on Shippensburg’s tuition schedule: $568 in tuition plus $82 for educational services, $46 for technology and $20 for activities, all per credit, for $716. Thirty credits total $21,480. The campus health and student union fees don’t apply online. The table isn’t dated, but the same $568 appears in the school’s Winter 2026 rates.

Ball State keeps a semester calendar, so fall and spring courses last 16 weeks and summer courses 10. Applicants without a business degree are welcome and take up to three foundation courses.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Ball State University

For students outside Indiana, Ball State’s 2026-27 online rate is $696 per credit, $464 of basic tuition plus a $232 nonresident charge, and every online credit adds a $25 course fee. Together that’s $721 per credit hour and $21,630 for the degree. Each semester also brings an MBA program fee of $500 or $1,000 and a technology fee of $100 or $150, depending on credit load, which we haven’t counted. Indiana residents don’t pay the $232.

Program Summary

Supply chain is one of the concentrations in Southern University’s online MBA, and its courses stack into a 15-credit Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management, which the catalog says is designed to prepare students for the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional exam and to build a talent pipeline for Louisiana employers. The online study plan lists logistics and transportation, global supply chain management, ERP and two newer courses, Supply Chain Analytics and Supply Chain Design. An internship counts as a free elective. Those who didn’t major in business begin with foundation courses.

Estimated Tuition Costs at Southern University and A&M College

Southern’s Fall 2026 fee schedule prices online graduate study at $475 per credit for up to nine credits a semester, plus a $30 distance learning fee and a $5 technology fee per credit. MBA students also pay a $1,000 program fee each semester, prorated for part-time loads, which we’ve spread at $1,000 per nine credits, about $111 a credit. Over 39 credits, the 30-credit core plus a 9-credit concentration, the total is $24,223. Credits past nine in a semester drop to $100 each, so a heavier load would cost less. A $26.50 per-credit e-book fee can be declined and is left out.

Governors State University’s Online MBA in Supply Chain Management

Methodology: How We Priced and Ranked These MBAs

Award Badge for the Most Affordable Online MBA in SCM Programs

Our starting point was every online supply chain MBA in our program database. Then we went looking for ones it didn’t list yet, which brought the total to 68 programs at 67 schools. Every price comes from the school’s own site, most often the bursar’s rate schedule, with the program page used to confirm credits and online delivery.

  • What counts. An online MBA with a concentration, emphasis or track in supply chain or logistics, at an institutionally accredited school. A general operations management MBA doesn’t qualify. Short residencies are allowed, but programs with regular campus sessions aren’t ranked. Specialist master’s degrees have a ranking of their own on our most affordable online Master’s in Supply Chain Management guide.
  • The rate. We used what an online student pays per credit. Most schools charge one online rate to everyone. Where residency changes the price, we took the out-of-state online rate.
  • Credits. The shortest path the school publishes for a student with an undergraduate business background. Foundation courses for everyone else, transfer credit and credit for prior learning are left out.
  • Fees. Anything billed on each credit hour is in the total. Per-semester and one-time fees aren’t, and neither are books. We made one exception. Southern University charges MBA students an extra $1,000 every semester, and that’s too much to leave out, so it’s factored into the total.
  • Discounts. Military, employer and alumni rates aren’t applied unless every student gets them.
  • Total program price. We added any per-credit fees to the tuition rate and multiplied by the credits needed to graduate. When a school lists only a price per semester, we multiplied that by the number of semesters it says the degree takes.
  • Double-checking. We priced every program twice, separately. One pass began with the program page, the other with the school’s tuition office. When the two didn’t agree, we took a third look to settle it.
  • The year. We used each school’s 2026-27 rates when they’d been published. A profile notes it when the rate page has no year.

That left 52 programs at 51 schools that are fully online and have a price we could confirm. Seven of the other 16 aren’t fully online, two are no longer offered, and seven came off on review. We sorted what remained by total tuition, kept each school’s cheapest program and cut the list at $30,000, which leaves 28 schools. Where two schools cost the same, as Campbellsville and UW-Parkside do at $20,700, they take consecutive ranks.

What Supply Chain Courses Come With an Affordable Online MBA?

Most programs on this list pair a business core of seven to nine courses with three supply chain courses, or 9 credits. A few ask for more. North Carolina Wesleyan and Lindenwood require four supply chain courses, and Ana G. Méndez requires five. UW-Parkside’s is the lightest, at 6 credits made up of two-credit courses.

Within those few courses, each school picks a focus.

  • Purchasing and sourcing. Western Kentucky, Bowling Green and Campbellsville each devote a full course to procurement, from choosing suppliers to negotiating contracts.
  • Logistics and transportation. Arkansas State makes network design and global logistics required. Governors State covers all four freight modes, and UNC Pembroke gets into warehouse placement and route planning.
  • Analytics. UW-Parkside sits at the quantitative end, with a supply chain analytics course and an optimization elective in linear and integer programming. Western Kentucky and Southern University also offer supply chain analytics.
  • Systems and technology. ERP software is the backbone at Southern Arkansas and Ana G. Méndez. North Carolina Wesleyan works newer tools like AI and blockchain into its courses.
  • Lean, quality and operations. Southern Indiana and Bellevue each have a Lean Six Sigma course, South Dakota pairs supply chain with lean and quality work, and UW-Whitewater’s emphasis centers on operations.

What an Online Supply Chain MBA Costs Beyond Tuition

Our totals cover tuition and any per-credit fees. Budget for these too.

  • Per-semester fees. Technology and service fees billed each term are common. Charleston Southern and St. Francis charge $125 a semester, Campbellsville charges $75 every eight-week term, and Ana G. Méndez charges $375 a semester. Governors State’s facilities and technology fees come to $1,184 a term for anyone taking at least seven credits.
  • MBA program fees. Ball State charges $500 or $1,000 a semester depending on credit load. Southern University has one too, which we included in its total.
  • Foundation courses. If you didn’t study business, expect a few extra courses at your program’s usual rate.
  • One-time fees. Application and graduation fees are small but real. Spring Hill’s graduation fee is $250, and North Carolina Wesleyan’s is $125.
  • Books. Usually extra. Charleston Southern includes textbooks for most courses, and most Campbellsville courses don’t use one.

How to Lower the Cost of an Online MBA in SCM

Even the cheapest programs here can cost less. Here are a few strategies that will lower your tuition payments even further:

  • Employer tuition assistance. Under federal tax law, an employer can pay up to $5,250 a year toward your education tax-free through a qualified educational assistance program. Over two calendar years, that’s $10,500, about half the price of a typical program on this list.
  • Military pricing. West Florida drops its program price to $15,300 for service members, veterans and their families. SNHU charges active-duty students and military spouses $470 a credit.
  • Credit you already have. SNHU accepts up to 6 transfer credits, and Ashland awards up to 9 credits for industry credentials you already hold.
  • Resident rates. If you live in the school’s state, check for a lower rate. Southern Arkansas charges in-state students $338 a credit, compared with $530 for everyone else, and Ball State drops its $232 nonresident charge for Indiana residents.
  • A good GMAT score. Charleston Southern takes 10 percent off tuition for a score above 500.

What Do AACSB, ACBSP and IACBE Accreditation Mean?

Every school on this list is institutionally accredited, by agencies such as the Higher Learning Commission or the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. That’s what makes students eligible for federal financial aid. Some profiles list the Commission on Colleges and Universities (CC&U), the new name, since September 2026, of the agency long known as SACSCOC.

Business accreditation is a separate review of the business school itself. Schools choose whether to seek it.

  • AACSB is the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and it’s the most common on this list.
  • ACBSP is the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
  • IACBE is the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.

AACSB is the best known of the three, and its standards look at faculty research as well as teaching. ACBSP and IACBE put more weight on teaching and on what students actually learn, and IACBE measures each school against its own mission. For a move into management, any of the three shows a business school has passed an outside review, but AACSB carries more weight if you might pursue a doctorate or teach later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Cheap Online MBA in Supply Chain Management a Good Investment?

An affordable MBA in SCM is a good investment if your goal is management. An MBA spends most of its credits on finance, accounting, strategy and leadership. Those are the skills you need to go from running a warehouse or buying team to running a business. A low price doesn’t have to mean a lesser school, either. Western Illinois holds AACSB accreditation and costs $16,610 in total. Find an in-budget program that helps you advance in your career, and don’t forget to ask your employer whether it offers tuition assistance.

How Does This List Compare With the Best Online MBAs in Supply Chain Management Ranking?

Our affordability rankings focus entirely on total tuition. Our ranking of the best online supply chain MBAs does the opposite, reviewing entirely for quality instead, from a program’s standing in the industry to how much graduates go on to earn over time. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, with some schools (e.g., Southern Indiana) on both lists. Readers who care more about reputation than cost should start with that ranking.

Is an MBA or a Master’s in Supply Chain Management Cheaper?

They’re about the same. The cheapest master’s on our affordable master’s in SCM ranking costs $8,070, well below any MBA here, but the typical price on the two lists differs by only about $1,300. Some schools charge the same for both. Charleston Southern’s MBA and its MS in Supply Chain Management are both $18,750, and Shippensburg’s MBA and MS in Supply Chain Analytics are both $21,480. Pick the degree type that best meets your professional and educational goals. A difference of a few thousand dollars matters less than that. Remember, an MBA suits a move into general management, and a specialist master’s is a deep dive into supply chains.

How Long Does an Online Supply Chain MBA Take?

Many of the cheapest MBA in SCM programs take about one year to complete. Fifteen of the 28 on our list say a student can finish in 12 months or less, and Spring Hill says it can be done in as few as 10. Others plan on two years, including Campbellsville, Lindenwood, and Ball State. Those timelines assume full-time study, and studying part-time stretches your time to completion.

Do You Need the GMAT or GRE for an Online MBA in Supply Chain Management?

Usually not. That matches a trend we’ve seen across graduate education more broadly. Looking at our findings here, 23 of the 28 schools have no test requirement or will waive it. The details differ by school, however. South Dakota drops it for applicants with a U.S. bachelor’s degree, Spring Hill waives it once you’ve spent three years on the job, and the other five don’t say either way on their websites. If it’s not clear from the program’s website, ask the admissions office for confirmation.
