A master’s in supply chain management or logistics teaches you how goods get from raw materials to a customer’s door, and how to do it for less. If you already work in the field, the reason to earn one is practical. It’s a line on your resume that can lead to a promotion and a bigger paycheck. Taking two years off or running up student debt to get it defeats the purpose. That’s why we built this guide around price and speed. Every program here is online, and ten of them can be finished in a year or less.
The most affordable online master’s in supply chain and logistics for 2027 is Middle Georgia State University’s Master of Science in Management with a supply chain management concentration. Its estimated total tuition is $8,070.
Below are the 27 cheapest online master’s programs in supply chain management and logistics, one per school, each at $30,000 or less in total tuition. We priced every program from the school’s own tuition pages, using the rate an out-of-state student would pay to study online. Each profile shows the math.
What We Found for 2027
- The cheapest online master’s in supply chain management is Middle Georgia State’s MS in Management with a supply chain concentration, at $8,070 for 30 credits. That’s $269 per credit.
- Fast and cheap can go together. Ten programs on our list can be finished in a year or less at a full-time pace, and three of them cost under $20,000, at Georgia College ($12,150), Charleston Southern ($18,750) and Southern Miss ($18,904). Boston University says its program can take as little as eight months.
- Living out of state rarely costs extra online. Of the 27 schools, 23 charge online students the same rate wherever they live.
- Fees can move a school well down the list. Eight schools add fees to every credit on top of tuition. At UAH, $592 in tuition becomes $881 per credit once fees are added, which drops it from what would be sixth place to 20th. Our totals include these per-credit fees, and each profile names the per-term fees they leave out.
- Program pages aren’t always current. Georgia College’s program page still listed last year’s $479 per credit when we checked, while its 2026-27 rate schedule shows $405. We priced from the schools’ rate schedules.
- The GMAT and GRE are mostly optional. Houston is the only program we found that requires GRE or GMAT scores with no waiver. At least 18 of the 27 programs don’t require a test or will waive it.
- Thirteen programs on the list come from business schools that say they hold AACSB accreditation, and five more cite ACBSP.

Shipping and ports carry real weight in FAU’s Professional Master’s in Supply Chain Management, reflecting South Florida’s trade economy. A required course covers liner and bulk shipping, chartering and brokering, and how container terminals fit into global supply chains. Analytics is required as well, along with a Six Sigma process improvement course, and the single elective can go to AI with IBM Watson Studio or to blockchain. Practitioners supervise applied industry projects. No business degree is needed, though FAU expects four years of professional experience.
Estimated Tuition Costs at Florida Atlantic University
FAU runs this as a fee-based program through its executive education unit, so there’s one $900-per-credit program fee and the university’s usual per-term fees don’t apply. Every student pays the same, regardless of residency, for a total of $27,000 over 30 credits. FAU’s pages disagree on whether eBooks are included, so budget for textbooks to be safe.

Methodology: How We Ranked These Programs

We started with every online master’s in supply chain management, logistics and closely related fields in our program database, 74 programs at 60 schools. All tuition data comes from the schools’ own websites, usually the bursar’s or student accounts rate schedule, checked against the program page. We gathered each program’s credit requirement, the per-credit rate for online students and the fees every student must pay, then built a total from those pieces.
- Which programs qualify. Online master’s degrees (MS, MA and similar) at institutionally accredited schools. A short orientation or residency is fine. Programs that need regular trips to campus aren’t ranked. MBAs aren’t included here, since we rank them on a separate page.
- Which rate we use. The per-credit rate an out-of-state student pays to study online. At most schools that’s one rate for every online student. Where residency matters, we used the nonresident online rate.
- Which credits we count. The fewest credits any student can graduate with, as the school publishes them. Transfer credit, prior-learning credit and prerequisite courses some students need first aren’t counted.
- Which fees we include. Fees charged on every credit hour, such as online delivery or technology fees, are in the total. Fees charged once per term or once per program, plus books and materials, aren’t, because they depend on how long you take. Each profile names the ones we left out.
- Discounts. Military, alumni and employer discounts aren’t applied. The exception is a discount every student gets automatically.
- The total. Per-credit rate plus per-credit fees, times credits. Where a school publishes only a program or per-term total, we used it. One school (Boston University) prices courses at different levels differently, so we used the midpoint of its published range.
- Checking the numbers. Every program was researched twice, independently, once from the program page and once from the school’s tuition office, and every figure had to match a quote on the school’s site.
- Which year. We used 2026-27 rates wherever schools had published them. Where a school’s rate page carries no year, or only last year’s, the profile says so.
Of the 74 programs, 59 at 50 schools were fully online with a published price we could confirm. Eight weren’t fully online, four had no published price, and three were removed on review. We sorted the rest from cheapest to most expensive, kept each school’s cheapest program, and stopped at $30,000 in total tuition. That cutoff is why 27 schools appear on this list. Tied prices take consecutive ranks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is an Affordable Master’s in Supply Chain Management Worth It?
It can be, and a low price makes the math easier. Total tuition on our list runs from $8,070 to $30,000, and every program is online, so you can keep your job and your income while you study. Before you enroll, check whether the roles you want list a master’s as required or preferred, and ask your employer about tuition assistance. The less the degree costs, the sooner a raise pays it back.
What’s the Difference Between the Best and the Most Affordable Online Master’s in Supply Chain Management?
The most affordable online master’s in supply chain management are ranked on one number, estimated total tuition. Our best rankings weigh quality instead, looking at each program’s reputation in the supply chain industry, student outcomes and graduates’ career results, with factors such as AACSB status, research output, graduates’ earnings and debt, and awards from groups like Gartner.
Some schools make both lists. The University of Arkansas, for example, ranks second among the best online master’s in supply chain management and 10th here at $21,232. If quality matters more to you than price, start with our rankings of the best online master’s in supply chain management, the best online master’s in logistics and the best online MBAs in supply chain management.
What Are the Fastest Cheap Master’s in Supply Chain Management Programs?
The fastest affordable master’s in supply chain management programs on our list take about a year or less at a full-time pace. Boston University says its program can take as little as eight months ($27,030), and FIU‘s lockstep cohort finishes in ten ($30,000).
For a one-year finish at a lower price, look at Georgia College ($12,150), Charleston Southern ($18,750) and Southern Miss ($18,904). Shippensburg ($21,480), UAH ($26,430), Maine Maritime ($27,000), Embry-Riddle ($27,060) and St. Francis ($28,764) also list one-year paths. Most of these assume a full course load. Part time takes longer.
What’s Cheaper, an MBA in Supply Chain Management or an MS?
Usually the MS. Across every online program we priced, the cheapest MS in supply chain management costs $8,070 and the cheapest MBA with a supply chain concentration costs $13,080. The MS programs are also shorter, typically 30 credits against 36 for the MBAs, and more of them came in under $30,000 (34 of 59, against 19 of 43). An MBA spends more of its credits on general business courses such as finance and marketing. That breadth can help if you’re aiming for general management. We rank MBAs on a separate page.
Do Out-of-State Students Pay More for an Online Master’s in Supply Chain?
At most schools on our list, no. Of the 27, 23 charge online students the same per-credit rate wherever they live, and Southern Miss waives out-of-state tuition for fully online programs. Four schools (Old Dominion, Shippensburg, Purdue and FIU) set a separate rate for out-of-state online students, and our prices use it. At Old Dominion it’s actually $10 a credit less than Virginia residents pay.
Do Affordable Supply Chain Master’s Degrees Require the GMAT or GRE?
Most don’t. At least 18 of the 27 affordable online master’s programs on our list don’t require a test score or will waive it. FIU, for example, accepts two years of professional experience in place of a GMAT score. Houston is the only program we found that requires GRE or GMAT scores with no waiver. For the rest, the school’s pages didn’t say clearly, so ask admissions. Each profile lists what we could confirm.
Can You Get a Master’s in Supply Chain Management Without a Business Degree?
Yes. Many affordable online master’s in supply chain management programs accept applicants whose bachelor’s degree is in another field. FAU accepts a bachelor’s in any field with no business prerequisites, though it expects four years of professional experience. Maine Maritime and St. Francis also say prior business study isn’t required.
Others add a step. Middle Georgia State asks for a 3000-level management course or relevant business experience, Florida Tech sets prerequisite courses for students without a business background, and Houston wants a degree in a technology field.
